Creating Your Own Fairy Garden

It is often said that fairies can be found at the bottom of your garden. This is true but what if you don't have a garden? Well, create your own.

Whether you live on a sprawling farm or in a concrete tower you can create your own magic garden to work or school to share with others. We have called upon Plantara, the mystical gardener of the Muses to provide all the information we require to create a special garden. These are his instructionsÖ To begin, you must sit quietly and unlock the door to your imagination. Visualize what you want to see and it will be. Take the picture from your mind and begin.

Select the area for your garden. A planter or pot will work but it must have access to the magical warming rays of the sun and the misty showers of Spring. Seek out the richest soil Mother Earth can provide. Mix it together with natural compost and a few sprinkles of fairy dust. (If you don't have any let us know and we will send you some.)

Now you are ready to plant - but what? Here is a list of some of your best choices to attract fairies. Choose those you like and go to work. One or two plants can have the same result as many so don't let the size of your garden discourage you.

Bluebells - The fairies dance around them at night while the bells play a beautiful song.
Basil - Serves a s a protector in the garden.
Carnations - The fairies take on the colours of these flowers and radiate feelings of deep love.
Clover - Assists in finding love and wealth. It is not unusual to find a leprechaun in clover.
Cowslips - These are distinguished by their ability to find hidden fairy gold.
Iris - The fairies if this flower appear in all the colours of the rainbow and bring you feelings of peace and hope.
Jasmine - These fairies hold keys to prophecy and mental clarity.
Lady's Mantle - Fairies can shower in the drops of dew from this blossom.
Lavender - Wherever this flower grows there will always be a great amount of fairy and elf activity. They use this flower to make wine for their parties and the fairies also like to use this plant to scent their clothes.
Pansy - Its color attracts fairies. It is most famous for being used in a love potion by Oberon.
Rosemary - Fairies use this plant to combat black magic and hatred. It emotes very positive energy.
Sage - The fairies that live here are able to teach you how to slow the aging process.
Sweet Woodruff - The flowers reflect the light of the moon and illuminate your garden for fairy dances late at night.
Thyme - Fairies are known to build their homes under thyme. It also emits an evening fragrance that will attract the fairies to where you sleep.
Woolly Lamb's Ear - A fairy's favorite pet.

Arrange and plant your choices. Sprinkle with a little more fairy dust, water and let Mother Nature do her work.

As your garden grows and the colours and scents fill the air, your belief is the final ingredient to attract fairies. They will be very shy at first and you may only see a flash of light or feel an unexplained breeze but they will be there.

The fairies are Mother Nature's assistants and it is they who have created the aromas and painted the flowers.

You can make your garden even more attractive by adding a small twig bridge or a few pieces of driftwood. Fairies love places to hide. Make a small table with a tea service for their gatherings. Your imagination is your only limit. Remember that the best time to see your fairies are the 'tween times of dawn, noon, dusk and midnight. Good luck and let us know how you do!

Fairy Facts

Sing Often. Fairies gather wherever
there is song and music.

People see what the fairies want
them to see or see nothing at all.

If you have no fairies in your life
Because you just can't believe that they are real,
You are missing out on their mischief and fun and
The magic that they teach you to feel.

Try if you will, it won't cost much at all
And you might be surprised what you find.
They can change how you are, what you think,
what you want,
Their magic is wholesome and one of a kind.

Why not give it a shot, you've got nothing to lose,
And the possible gains are atrocious,
But take heed, watch those sprites, their magic is sweet,
Though they're known for being precocious.

The Wizard

Through a crack of lightning the mighty wizard appears. Dressed in fine starched silk encrusted in crystal dust, he stands on a spectacular sparkling rock of ages called carborundum. His face is lined and set with a gentle smile and a twinkle in his eye. His arms are outstretched to welcome you.

The Wizard brings with him the long forgotten secrets of the ancient worlds. He is the keeper of the great treasures of life, healing, love and magic.

It is said that Treflow, our Wizard, can close his hand on a grain of sand and when he opens it an exquisite perfect diamond appears. Such is the power of his magic!
